Topics in Riemannian Geometry I

MATHEMATICS AND STATISTICS 545

We will develop the foundational theory of algebraic curves, including their algebraic, topological, and analytical aspects. This course will serve as both an introduction to the basic ideas and objects of algebraic geometry and as a deep-dive into an elegant part of the field. Familiarity with commutative algebra, complex analysis, group theory, and topology will help students get the most out of this course. Prerequisites: Math 5031/32, Math 5021, Math 4170, or permission of the instructor.
