Professor Precup’s primary research interests are in algebraic geometry, combinatorics, and representation theory.
Much of her work uses Lie theory to strengthen and develop connections between combinatorics and geometry. Her projects often involve Hessenberg varieties, a family of subvarieties of the flag variety that include Springer fibers. Precup earned her PhD from the University of Notre Dame in 2013 and previously held postdoctoral positions at Northwestern University and Baylor University.
