WHOA-PSI

The Workshop on Higher-Order Asymptotics and Post-Selection Inference (WHOA-PSI) will take place September 30 - October 2, 2016 on the campus of Washington University in St. Louis.

The main organizers of this event are Todd Kuffner (Washington University), John Kolassa (Rutgers University), Nancy Reid (University of Toronto), Ryan Tibshirani (Carnegie Mellon University) and Alastair Young (Imperial College London). This is the first-ever meeting devoted to this topic.

The workshop focuses on recent developments in procedures for statistical inference after model selection, with an emphasis on tools from higher-order asymptotics which can yield more accurate results in small samples. Of particular interest are recent advances in high-dimensional problems, as well as the selective and simultaneous inference approaches intended to achieve valid p-values and interval estimates after a model selection procedure has been utilized.

WHOA-PSI will have many invited talks and open discussions, as well as tutorials for junior researchers. The workshop serves as a platform for researchers across a broad spectrum of statistical subfields, such as biostatistics, machine learning and econometrics, to share ideas and present problems in need of new methodological tools.
