Undergraduate Seminar: "A casual roundtable with an industry veteran and a fellow WashU student"
Abstract: We welcome you to a new undergrad seminar (hopefully to become a series) that we have invited an industry veteran and a fellow WashU student to share their experience and adventures. First the speakers will answer some selected questions from our students, then we will have some free Q&A time (a semi-AMA style, ask me anything about data science, math, stats, coding, looking for job, etc).
Jeff teaches a comprehensive Machine Learning class at WashU (https://github.com/jeffheaton/t81_558_deep_learning) ranging from the usage of Keras to classify cats and dogs to NLP application of RNNs. Jeff hires 2-3 intern data scientists every summer at RGA.
Ethan was a student in our Math 449 class back in Fall 2020, and he is an extremely experienced coder among his peers. He will be a software engineer at Amazon. Ethan will share some of his experience on preparing resume and being interviewed.
Hosts: Shuhao Cao and Adeli Hutton
