Szego Seminar: "An Exploration of Bounded Affine Permutations"

Speaker: Luke Seaton, Washington University in Saint Louis

Abstract: This talk will explore topics in permutation pattern avoidance and enumeration, and how the methods for permutations can be adapted to study bounded affine permutations. First, I will give an overview of pattern avoidance and results for permutations. Then, I will introduce definitions for children and parents of affine permutations to provide a structure for exploring the relationships between different affine permutations. Finally, I will end with some ideas and conjectures for future work.
