Geometry and Topology Seminar: "Seiberg-Witten Floer homotopy and contact structures"

Abstract: Kronheimer and Mrowka introduced an invariant for 4-manifolds with contact boundary using the Seiberg-Witten equation  in 1997. The speaker constructed a homotopical refinement of this invariant using Bauer-Furuta's technique called "finite dimensional approximation" of the Seiberg-Witten equation. Developments around this invariant, including joint works with Hokuto Konno, Anubhav Mukherjee and Masaki Taniguchi will also be discussed.
