Combinatorics Seminar: "Which Schubert varieties are Hessenberg varieties?"
Speaker: Laura Escobar Vega, Washington University in Saint Louis
Abstract: Schubert and Hessenberg varieties are subvarieties of the flag variety. Both are examples of combinatorial varieties with important connections to algebraic combinatorics and representation theory. In joint work with Martha Precup and John Shareshian we investigate the question: which Schubert varieties are also Hessenberg varieties? We will discuss our progress.
