Analysis Seminar: "An atomic decomposition for solenoidal charges"

Abstract: In this talk we describe a recent result obtained in collaboration with Felipe Hernandez where we give an atomic decomposition for the space of divergence free measures. The atoms in this setting are piecewise C^1 closed curves which satisfy a ball growth condition, while our result can be used to deduce certain "forbidden" Sobolev inequalities which arise in the study of electricity and magnetism.
