Algebraic Geometry Seminar: "Some (more) Lefschetz theorems for vector bundles."
Speaker: Ravindra Girivaru, UMSL
Abstract: Recently K. Česnavičius proved a version of the Grothendieck-Lefschetz theorem which gives a criterion for a vector bundle on a complete intersection of dimension at least three to split as a sum of powers of the polarization thus verifying a conjecture of H.Dao. I will present a geometric proof of a slightly stronger version of this theorem in the case where the complete intersection is assumed to be smooth. I will also talk about a Noether-Lefschetz version of this theorem for general complete intersection surfaces. This is based on joint work with Amit Tripathi of Hyderabad.
