Algebraic Geometry Seminar: "Comparing approaches for compactifying moduli spaces"

Abstract: We will discuss techniques from within Hodge and Geometric Invariant Theory for compactifying moduli spaces of varieties. We will give a particular focus on examples and ongoing open projects that involve cubics and Horikawa surfaces.
