AAG Seminar: Smoothing Gorenstein toric Fano 3-folds

Abstract: I present a sufficient criterion for the existence of a smoothing, and a way to understand its topology. While not optimal, the criterion gives many constructions of the 98 families of smooth Fano 3-folds with very ample |-K|. (Work with Paul Hacking and Andrea Petracci.)
