Math Department Welcomes Back Colleagues and Families With BBQ

The WashU Department of Mathematics enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of food, games, and conversation with friends, colleagues, and families. It was a great chance to connect outside the classroom and enjoy the start of the semester together.

It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon in Forest Park. Department Chair Brett Wick grilled up hot dogs, hamburgers, and bean burgers. Many people brought their spouses/partners, children, and even pets!

From the Chair: "A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the WashU Mathematics Department BBQ this past Saturday in Forest Park. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community come together for good food, good company, and a great afternoon outdoors.

Special thanks go out to the Organizing Committee: Mackenzie Bookamer, Georgia Corbett, Francesco D’Emilio, Troy Roberts, Mary Ann Stenner, and Brandon Sweeting, who planned and carried out the event with amazing success.  Thanks also to the faculty on the committee: Alan [Chang] and Steven [Frankel], who provided support as well.

We hope you enjoyed the chance to connect with fellow students, faculty, staff, and friends of the department, and we look forward to seeing you at future events."
