"Zeros of normalized sections of non convergent power series"

Speaker: Alberto Dayan, Washington University in Saint Louis

Abstract: The asymptotic distribution of the zeros of the truncation of a power series has been intensively investigated during the first half of the last century, at least in the case in which the radius of convergence is one. In particular, the works of Jentzsch and Szegö give a necessary and sufficient condition for those zeros to be asymptotically equidistributed on the unit circle. We extend such a characterization to the case in which the radius of convergence is zero.
