Statistics and Data Science Seminar: "Network Level Analysis of Machine Learning Predictions in the Human Functional Connectome"

Speaker: Muriah Wheelock, Mallinckrodt Institute of Technology

Abstract: Machine learning models are frequently applied to brain connectivity data in order to determine biomarkers that can predict the onset of neurological and psychiatric disorders. However, several practical considerations have limited the effective application of machine learning methods to real neuroimaging datasets. In this talk we will discuss the reliability and biological interpretation of linear support vector regression models applied to connectome data and practical considerations for implementation in neuroscience and medical imaging datasets.
