Oral Thesis Defense: "Bayesian variable selection and post-selection inference"
Speaker: Qiyiwen Zhang, Washington University in Saint Louis
Abstract: This thesis is composed of several distinct but related contributions. The first chapter presents a comparative analysis of many popular Bayesian variable selection procedures, examining their selection criteria, and both finite and large sample properties. A second chapter elucidates the effects of variable selection on Bayesian inference in linear regression. A third chapter considers Bayesian post-selection inference in the context of population selection and ranking problems.
