Combinatorics Seminar: "On Symmetric Edge Polytopes'

Speaker: Benjamin Braun, University of Kentucky

Abstract: Symmetric edge polytopes (SEPs) are a class of lattice polytopes defined by finite, simple, undirected graphs. SEPs, also called Type PV adjacency polytopes in applied settings, have various desirable geometric and combinatorial properties. However, many aspects of their structure are not well-understood. In this talk, I will give a survey of several known results regarding SEPs, then discuss recent joint work with Kaitlin Bruegge and Matthew Kahle regarding the problem of counting facets of SEPs.
