Combinatorics Seminar: "Combinatorics of the infinity-gon via singularity theory"

Abstract: Given some nice combinatorics, we often wish to find a natural category (e.g. arising in representation theory or geometry) which exhibits this combinatorics in some way. For example, the combinatorics of finite polygons and their triangulations appear when describing the cluster structure on a category associated to type A curve singularities. In this talk, we will look at the more complicated combinatorics of the infinity-gon and explain how this arises from the type A_infinity curve singularity.
