Colloquium: "Arveson-Douglas Conjecture -- a Harmonic Analysis Approach"

Speaker: Yi Wang, SUNY Buffalo

Abstract: The Arveson-Douglas Conjecture arises from Arveson's study of tuples of operators with certain contractive properties. Geometric points of view were introduced by Arveson and Douglas, for instance, by associating the tuples with their joint spectrum. In this talk, I will introduce the background of the Arveson-Douglas Conjecture and its connections with other problems. I will also briefly explain a harmonic analysis approach of the conjecture, which proves to be useful in recent years.

Host: Brett Wick

Tea will be served at 3:30pm in room 200.
