Algebraic Geometry Seminar: "The Transcendental Abel-Jacobi Map for K_1 of a Surface"
Speaker: James D. Lewis, University of Alberta
Abstract: We define the Abel-Jacobi map for K_1 of a surface and relate it to its transcendental analog, which is a pure membrane integral. We provide some evidence that it is injective. This goes back to a problem investigated by Bloch and Griffiths some 40 years ago.
