Algebraic and Arithmetic Geometry Seminar: "Virtual Resolutions and the virtually Cohen--Macaulay property"
Speaker: Jay Yang, Washington University in Saint Louis
Abstract: This talk will introduce virtual resolutions and discuss examples where this virtual resolution is as short as can be expected. I will discuss ongoing work with Adam Van Tuyl as well as previous work with Christine Berkesch, Patricia Klein, and Michael Loper, focusing on current techniques to construct virtually Cohen--Macaulay ideals and their limitations.
