Abstract: One source of motivation for the study of Hilbert modules is its algebraic analog. In particular, general modules are built up from free ones. We will discuss analogs of these notions, some results, and pose some possible conjectures on what might be true for Hilbert modules. Some important examples are the Hardy spaces on the unit ball in $\mathbb{C}^m$.
